We are a small, casual restaurant located in historic village of Fort Langley, British Columbia, Canada
The Lampliter is owned and operated by Chef Paul Buckley and Nicoletta, his Italian wife.
After living in Switzerland for almost 4 years, while perfecting their craft working in the best restaurants and hotels in the Alps, Nicoletta and Paul fell in love with Fort Langley because of its quaintness and Old World feel.
We see the Lampliter as the continuation of our dining room.
We view our customers as our guests and we strive to make them feel welcome and at ease.
Paul's goal, while creating the Lampliter dishes, is to bring out the best of the product. We describe our cuisine as refined country cooking, an approach to fine dining techniques honed in Europe, adapted to local ingredients for the enjoyment of our clientele.
In his kitchen, Chef Paul is using the best produce West Coast and Fraser Valley can offer. You will be served organic chicken from Maple Hill Farms, pork from Johnston's in Chilliwack and local Italian sausage made by Bonetti Meats.
The menu is a veritable bounty of innovative offerings. Appetizers include steamed mussels in an herbed wine sauce, duck liver pate and crouton with goat cheese, roasted mushrooms, spinach and balsamic vinaigrette. Main dishes are equally interesting - griddled B.C. snapper fillet with bay scallops in citrus butter sauce , crispy duck breast with dried cranberry and balsamic sauce, griddled polenta with Tuscan beans and bocconcini, prosciutto wrapped Fraser Valley pork tenderloin.
We couldn't have done it and achieved the success that we have without our remarkable staff. We are proud to be able to count on really long term employees, while welcoming more recent members. The Lampliter owes its charm, ambiance, and longevity to the great people we have surrounded ourselves with.
